The full name of carbon fiber cable is carbon fiber reinforced resin-based composite core soft aluminum stranded wire. It has a series of excellent properties and is a high-end product for cables. Japan and the United States have successfully developed carbon fiber cables and have been put to practical use in power grids. China has purchased this kind of cable from the United States earlier, and started trials in various power grids. Technical key

Carbon fiber cables are mainly produced by continuous pultrusion. The core technology is the manufacture of core rods, and the key material is high temperature toughness epoxy resin. In the carbon fiber composite mandrel, carbon fiber accounts for 35%, glass fiber accounts for 35%, and high temperature toughness epoxy resin accounts for 30%. The carbon fiber used has high tensile strength and large elongation at break, thereby providing toughness and impact resistance to the manufactured core rod. The epoxy resin used is a high temperature type tough resin. This is another technical core for manufacturing composite mandrels. The curing temperature of this resin is as high as 260 ° C. Generally, the curing temperature of epoxy resin 648 or AG80 is lower than this value. In other words, this high-temperature curing epoxy resin has a special heat-resistant structure. In addition, toughening modification is needed to make the mandrel bar tough, rather than hard. Otherwise it will not pass the pay-off pulley test. Continuous pultrusion is a mature process. However, the manufacture of carbon fiber composite mandrel has certain characteristics.

Process flow


The carbon fiber tube is placed on a finishing rack, bundled in one direction (0 °), covered with glass fiber, impregnated with epoxy resin glue, passed through a steel die to control the diameter, and then passed through a curing furnace to be cured and formed. The core rod diameter can be adjusted in the range of 0.19 ~ 19mm, and the pultrusion speed can be adjusted in the range of 2.7-18m / min.

Performance analysis


1. Compared with ACSR cable, it can effectively increase the current carrying capacity by 29% and reduce the transmission loss by 6%. 2. Small linear expansion coefficient and small sag First, ACCC wire has a significant low relaxation characteristic. The linear expansion change of ACCC is only 9.6% of ACSR, and the sag is less than 1/2 of ACSR. Second, the ACCC composite core can Working in a rapid cold and hot environment, for example, extreme cold temperatures up to 200 ° C and down to -180 ° C, can still be used in the design and manufacture of power transmission carriers. Therefore, the carbon fiber composite core can not only adapt to changes in temperature difference, but also effectively reduce the insulation space of overhead cables and improve the safety of conductor operation.


3. Light weight, high strength and large breaking force

The density of ACCC composite core is about 1.9g / cm3, while the density of ACCR core material is 4 times higher (about 7.8 g / cm3). At the same time, the tensile strength of ACCC is 2399MPa, which is 1.97 times that of ACSR. It must be known that the external load bearing force of the cable is mainly borne by the core material. Compared with steel wire, carbon fiber composite core not only has the advantages of light weight and high strength, but also greatly improves the breaking force by 30%.


4. Corrosion resistance

ACCC composite core can avoid the problem of intermetallic corrosion of ACSR core. More importantly, the outer layer of the ACCC core rod is covered with a glass fiber layer. This layer can play an insulation function. Some products are also coated with tetrafluoroethylene to make the core rod completely insulated from the aluminum wire. Electrical corrosion.
